This store is powered by Teemill.com software from Teemill Tech Ltd, a certified organic company registered in the UK (“Rapanui”). We at Rapanui are thoroughly committed to protecting the privacy of customers, site visitors and partners. We use the information that we collect to fulfil your product and service orders and to create a more personalised experience for you. This policy addresses our use and disclosure of information we collect from you. This policy covers our collection and use of personal information for all visitors, customers, store operators and third party business partners regarding all of our online operations, including those via RapanuiClothing.com, Uktshirtprinting.com and Teemill.com
1. What personal information do we collect?
We committed to delivering outstanding customer service to each and every customer. When visiting and purchasing from Rapanuiclothing.com and Teemill.com and any of our other affiliated sites we collect two types of information about you. The first is called "Personally Identifiable Information" and the second "Non-Personally Identifiable Information" – we'll explain what these are in a bit, but more importantly is the reason why we collect this data: simply it's to help us provide you with the best possible customer service we can.
1.1 Personally Identifiable Information.
This refers to information that alone or together with other information we can access lets us know the specifics of who you are. We gather “Personal Information“ when you order from us, set up a Teemill store or when you enter a competition or sign up to recieve promotional content e.g. E-mail newsletters or offers by post (“Promotional Content“). This information includes names, e-mail addresses, billing and delivery addresses, telephone numbers, genders, ages, product selections and preferences, order numbers, billing information, payment details, referring website Uniform Resource Locators ("URLs"), Internet Protocol ("IP") addresses (which identify the specific computer or device you are using), comments / feedback / reviews, webpage usage, social media profiles.
This information helps us to fulfil your orders and provide you with the best possible customer service.
1.2 Non-Personally Identifiable Information.
This refers to information that does not identify a specific individual. We gather certain information about you based upon where and how you shop on our site in several ways. This information is compiled and analysed on both an individual and aggregated basis. For example, this information may include such data as the URLs of the website that you will have just come from, the URL of the website you next go to, the browser you are using, and your IP address.
2. How do we use the information we collect?
Our primary goal in collecting Personal Information is to provide our visitors with an excellent, personalised online experience and to improve the way we design and offer new products such as to project trends and optimise product development. We use customer contact information to fulfil orders and to let you know the latest with your order (i.e. we've received your order – thanks!) and sometimes from time to time, send you promotional content which we think you'll love, via email, text or post. You can opt out of receiving promotional content at any time as described in Section 6 below.
We collect IP addresses and other data to support our market research and understand the interests of our visitors. For example we use IPs to monitor the level of activity of different user groups on our site (how many people are on the site, which pages are their favourites etc.)
All of this works to support us in our work to improve and make things better for you, our visitor. For example, if we find that we have lots of Spanish friends we could know to translate our site into Spanish as a way to better serve them. Or if we learn that our customers need certain sizes such as small, we can personalise the site for them so that we show them products that are available in small.
3. How do we gather information?
We gather information in a few ways, some information you provide directly to us (e.g. your name and delivery address) and others we get from your device, subject to your device settings. Keep reading to see how we gather this information and what we do with the information after it has been gathered.
We collect information from visitors to our site regarding the URLs they came from (did you find us through Google or type in the address yourself); if you've come from someone else's site we look at their IP addresses to see where they are; we also look at the date and time of your visit and/or order, the number of visits and/or orders you make, the number of visits to different pages you make, the server type, the operating system, the browser type used to come to the site, the pages and page titles, whether you have certain things enabled on your device (e.g. “Java“ or “cookies“ – we'll explain more later), the browser language (Bonjour!), applications and plug-ins, any search terms entered on our site... you see we look at a lot of technical stuff. But it all helps us to see what works and what does not.
When our customers order one of our products or services, we collect and maintain their names, e-mail addresses, billing addresses, delivery addresses, telephone numbers, product selections, order numbers, payment details, referring URLs, IP addresses (and passwords if they choose to make an account during the checkout process). We do this so that we can fulfil orders and let them know what's happening with it (we've received your order, it's on its way etc) and to send relevant promotional content if the customer has elected to receive it.
Setting up and Maintaining User Accounts
When any of our store operators, business partners and other users sign up for and maintain user accounts, we collect and maintain the personal data they provide.
Contests / Competitions
When you enter a contest or other promotions, we may ask you for contact information - such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. We do this so that we can notify winners and get their prizes to them. When you enter a competition or contest, we may use this information to send you information on other material we think you'll like (i.e. our other promotions, or discount codes, or newsletters or promotional content), subject always to your rights to unsubscribe as set out in Section 6.
Newsletters & Promotional E-mails
We offer free newsletters and promotional content as a service to our customers and subscribers. We sent this promotional content to our customers and subscribers from time to time via email and post. This is the primary method by which you can receive the best stories, deals, discounts and new products and access promotional content from Rapanui and/or Teemill stores. If you have not yet elected to receive this content, or are unsure if you are subscribed but wish to be, you can opt in here. If you no longer want to receive this content you can unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in the promtional content at the point of delivery. Alternatively, you can request our team unsubscribe you using this link and navigating to the unsubscribe feature, or you can use the contact info at the bottom of this page to write to us. We'll then make sure we do not send you any more promotional content.
If you contact RapanuiClothing.com or Teemill.co.uk or our customer service representatives by telephone, e-mail or letter, we may keep a record of your correspondence or comments. If you report a problem with our site, we may collect the information you provide and store it. If you contact us through our feedback area or by calling one of our customer service representatives, we may ask for your name, e-mail address and order information in order to get back to you, to send a reply or let you know we've fixed the issue you had.
"Cookies" are important things to have on your device that store data to improve your web browsing experience. Without them you wouldn't be able to buy anything on our site. Put simply, it helps us to store the items you put in your cart. It remembers which product you want and what size and what colour. By using our site you agree to us using cookies. You can delete these cookies at any time by accessing your internet options later. This may affect your browsing experience in future. There's more information cookies a little further down this exciting document.
4. Do we provide information to any third parties?
We need to provide certain information to third parties who assist us in providing our products and services and developing our markets, but under their contracts with us they are required to store and process your information in accordance with similar standards of protection as we do.
If any police force, regulatory body or other public authority lawfully requests us to provide personal information we may comply with that request without being obliged to inform you.
5. How can you verify or access and update your Personally Identifiable Information?
Verification: If you do not have a user account with us (including if you are a Registered Customer), you may ask us at any time what Personally Identifiable information about you we are processing and we will respond as soon as possible, subject to any legal restrictions. For security purposes, you may only make your request by sending us a signed document to the postal address listed in Section 10 below, together with a copy of your driver’s license, passport or other official proof of identity card.
Access and Update: If you do have a user account with us, you may in addition to the above access, update or correct your Personally Identifiable information by accessing and amending your profile entries in your user account dashboard.
6. What are your choices regarding your receipt of newsletters and promotional emails?
You may unsubscribe from our newsletters and opt out of receiving any further promotional emails from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any newsletter or opt links in emails you receive from us. After doing so, you will never receive future newsletters or promotional emails – unless you open a new account, enter a contest, or sign up to receive newsletters or emails. If you do not wish to receive postal mailings you can opt out by contacting us and asking to be removed from our postal mailing list using the contact details in this document. Don't worry, we won't be offended. We'll just make sure not to contact you again. But we will miss you. What security precautions are in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of your information?
All of the customer data we collect is stored in a password protected area and protected against unauthorised access by physical and technical security measures.
Our data is stored on a secure server which has anti-hacking security measures in place. Personal profile data is stored in a password protected database on this server, which is itself protected with access permissions. User passwords are encrypted with modern non-reversible encryption methods. Transactions take place over a secure (256-bit) encrypted connection and we do not store customer card details on our server.
7. How long do we keep your information?
Okay so now we're going to explain more about cookies. But it is a little technical, so we'll try and explain it quickly and simply. Well as much as possible. A cookie is a small data text file, which a Web site stores on your device's hard drive (if your Web browser permits) that can later be retrieved to identify you to us. When you use our site we will store cookies on your device in order to facilitate and customise your use of our site. To do all this fun stuff we use two types of cookies: Session cookies; these are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser until you leave the website. We use session cookies to allow you to carry information across pages of our website and avoid having to re-enter information, and to compile statistics that allow us to understand how users use our website and to help us improve the structure of our website (i.e. which items you added to cart, in what colour and what size). Persistent cookies; these remain in the cookie file of your browser for much longer (though how long will depend on the lifetime of the specific cookie). Our cookies store randomly assigned user identification numbers and the country where you are located. These types of cookies make your use of the site easier, allow you to retrieve an earlier shopping cart, make the site run more smoothly and help us to maintain a secure site. They are also used to store information in relation to our affiliate sites who send customers to us. An affiliate site is where a partner website places links to rapanuiclothing.com and is financially rewarded if you, the customer, make a purchase on rapanuiclothing.com.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying the settings in your browser. However, you may not be able to use all the interactive features of our site if cookies are disabled. You can easily delete any cookies that have been installed in the cookie folder of your browser.
